The Gamo Urban .22 -Air Rifle Review
|Gamo, from the land of the conquistadors brings us the mean looking Gamo Urban .22. Built in their Birmingham, U.K. factory, this stunning air gun can be had for around $350. It is great for intermediate to advance shooters, and will leave room to grow for the newbies.

The Gamo Urban weighs approximately 9 lbs (8.9lbs), and comes ready to shoot right out of the box. Included is a magazine, scope, rings, and a reservoir that is already filled with air. Just add scope of your choice. The air reservoir is the perfect compromise between capacity and size. No one wants to lug around an air rifle with a huge and heavy reservoir. This size is also great for using a hand pump. Those large reservoir rifles? Forget it, you’ll want something more capable than a hand pump.

The recommended filling pressure is 3365 psi (or 232 Bar), This will get you between 40-60 good quality shots, putting out a respectable 22 foot pounds of energy. I quickly talk about muzzle energy on my home page. See paragraph “QUICK LESSON ON MUZZLE ENERGY”.
By shooting the Gamo Uban, you couldn’t tell how powerful it really is, thanks to Gamo’s fusion whisper suppressor. You really feel like 007, with a report barely audible by neighbors.
The trigger is nice, smooth, and predictable. It is a dual stage trigger which is dual stage adjustable. Any serious shoot will appreciate this, and will leave room to grow for a newer shooter.
Included up top, is a BSA 11 mm rail for the scope or any other accessories. The feel is solid and high quality as you would expect. Other BSA products on this rifle include the 10 round rotary magazine and the ever-smooth functioning bolt.

At 25 yards, this rifle is barely stretching its legs. It is dead nuts accurate every time. The real fun begins at 50 yards. The rifle knows how to do it’s job, it’s really up to the shooter’s skill at this point. Accuracy is amazing, assuming identical wind conditions, you will push a pellet through the same hole every time at 50 yds. I was shooting this rifle with crossman premier pellets, which I highly recommend you go check out. Crossman advertises 20% better accuracy at 50 yards, which i’ve personally verified to be true.
At 100 yards, expect a 5 dot drop, when sighted at 50 yds.
At 50 yards, expect a 2″ drop, when sighted at 25 yds.
Overall, the Gamo Urban .22 is a highly ergonomic feeling air rifle, and I could shoot this thing all day. It’s also great looking and I could just stare at it for just as long. I almost want to make it a display piece on my wall.
